About the Program

       Study Buddies is a volunteer tutor program where struggling middle schoolers can access free (virtual) educational resources. Each middle school student will sign up to be tutored in a specific subject. They then will be paired with a Reading high school tutor who specializes in that subject. The student will continually work one on one with their tutor throughout the session.

       By participating in this program, middle school students will learn more about their desired subject. They will also be able to form a close relationship with their tutor, which will create a comfortable, open environment for them to learn in. This connection will help their social skills as well as their overall transition to high school. Having a familiar face at such a large school will make a world of difference once they enter RMHS.

**Every effort is made to pair students with a tutor. Due to potential overwhelming demand, we cannot guarantee that there will be a tutor available** 

Virtual Expectations

       Study Buddies is starting virtually this year. Each student-tutor pair will be in a breakout room via Zoom. Middle school students can screen share, type in the chat and use other Zoom features. Volunteers and middle-schoolers should familiarize themselves with Zoom and adhere to appropriate virtual expectations as they do in school.
